It Begins...with NATUREBOX

My name is Kristin, and I have a problem.

I am addicted to Subscription Boxes.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I think it stems from my love of mail. (duh)  I love the anticipation I feel when I approach my mailbox and wonder what could be inside (other than bills, of course) or how my heart skips a beat when the UPS truck turns onto my street.  The driver probably thinks I have a crush on him.  But sadly for him, it's his packages I'm after.

I recently discovered subscription boxes.  I am sure I had heard of them in the past but it wasn't until recently that I took the plunge and ordered one two five TEN...you know, just to see if I like them (as if I might not - hah!).

My first order was for NatureBox, a wonderful company that sends you a box full of delicious, healthy, all-natural goodies.  I was skeptical at first because I am a notorious junk food addict. Even my husband laughed at the thought of me actually snacking on something with no artificial flavors or colors.
Sad little package - the only one left.

When it arrived it was very simply packaged and contained 5 different kinds of snacks.

Italian Bistro Pretzel Bites - absolutely delicious!! They have some serious flavor packed into a little pretzel.  I'm always afraid that pretzels will be too hard for my teeth but these are perfect! I was perfectly happy snacking on a handful at a time.

Lemon Meringue Waffles - I kind of expected these to be like Pizzelle cookies I make for the holidays, but I should have known better.  They have a very bright lemon flavor - almost "fresher" than you would expect. They are light and crispy but I would not describe them as sweet in any way.  I was looking for a richer flavor but that was just my junk foodie's heart (and stomach).  They were very tasty once I reminded myself that they are meant to be healthy and tasty not fattening and tasty.

Banana Bread Granola - I am usually quite predictable with my snack foods. No raisins, no banana flavor (unless its an actual banana), not too much crunch and no coconut.  This granola laughed in the face of my personal (mental) restrictions and I ended up eating almost the entire bag in one sitting.  The coconut flavor wasn't strong and the coconut itself gave the granola a pleasantly chewy texture in spots.  It wasn't too crunchy - not rock hard like some store brands I've had.  The raisins were delicious and gave the granola the perfect sweetness. and the banana bread flavor DEFINITELY came through!

Whole Wheat Raspberry Fig Bars - Individually packaged, these little bars were perfect for a grab-n-go snack.  They were chewy, slightly sweet and completely delicious. They didn't last long since my husband and 2 little girls got ahold of them!

Taj Mahal Snack Mix - This wasn't really up my alley.  It has a curry flavor and a mix of elements that didn't call to me.  I ended up giving it to my brother-in-law who really enjoyed it.

All in all, I LOVE this box.  I will definitely look forward to next month's because each box is different.  I liked being able to try new [healthy] things and get a better idea of what I enjoy. Having healthy snacks within reach made it much easier to avoid junk food.  The box is $19.95 with free shipping (!) but I was able to find a promo code that gave me $10 off my first box.  I will DEFINITELY continue my subscription at the regular price of $19.95.
